The first thing is to aim for "passiv haus" standars in all new builds, and to retrofit where possible to this standard. The aim is to reduce enrgy use for both heating and cooling to near zero. Converting houses to electrical heating with 'green' electricity would help. The problem with say roof top solar panels, which I like the idea of, is storage, and batteries are themselves not green. Other electric storage technology will come on line, such as large capacitors. All public parks and open spaces should be planted with more trees, 'food forests', and community gardens for local participation. Climate change and amelioration should be taught in all schools, and schools should have green space, where caring for growing plants can be demonstrated and taught.

What do you think the main obstacles and opportunities are?

Fixed ideas about convenience and convention get in the way of creative thinking. We need to move to a much less consumerist society, which challenges business and people generally to find different ways to work, employ people, think about what is important, what needs to be manufactured and so on. Pretending that a move to electric cars will make a difference needs to stop. We need to rethink transport altogether, walking, cycling and public transport must be prioritised above all else. This will help many health issues as well.

Stop installation of 5G immediately. Car free days. Consider the carbon footprint of materials used and consumables etc particularly the scope 3 emissions which currently are excluded from reported emission measurements but are more than scopes 1 & 2 together. Oppose High Speed 2 - supporting it is a disconnect to declaring climate emergency, which Camden hasn't actually done yet but do intend to!!

The energy used in our digital consumption is set to have a bigger impact on global warming than the entire aviation industry - something needs to be done before we get there. Obstacle - The will to actually do something radical.

pay attention. to pollution and its harm to human health. protect. people's health by preventing dust particles from eg construction mismanagement., and preventing loss of mature trees, which alleviate pollution (stop arguing differently, but show specific facts) and reduce global warming.
